True Rebel

It's Hoedown time again. This week's challenge is to use Rebel with the sentiment by Hambo Stamps to "stitch" up a card. You can use real, faux or hand stitching. Since I've never sewn on a card before, I decided dig out the sewing machine and try it. It was easy. I kept it simple for my first try, just a straight stitch for a border.  I think I'm ready to try a zigzag stitch next time!

The layout was inspired by a card designed by my very talented friend my Amanda Wayer. I sponged the oval and Rebel's uniform. Then I  added just a hint of color with my Copics.

Come join the fun at the Hoedown. Let's see what you can "stitch" up.

aRound at the Hoedown

Cool Dog is just hangin' aROUND the beach during the dog days of summer so the Hoedown challenge this week is to  make a ROUND card using Cool Dog digi by Hambo Stamps. No squares or rectangles allowed.

I made a ROUND easel card of Cool Dog floating aROUND in the ocean. I used my nesties and a scallop punch along with some stickers to make my beach scene and added some paper piercing for interest.  Don't be square. Come aROUND to the Hoedown. It's the COOL thing to do!

Maryland Wedding

This card is for the Featured Stamper's Challenge on SCS. This week's featured stamper is Cindy aka CJoy. She has many wonderful cards in her gallery. It was hard to pick which card I wanted to CASE. I need a wedding card for a friend's son who is getting married in August so I decided to CASE Cindy's Orchid Opulence Wedding card .

I changed the size of the card from square to A2. The theme for the wedding is Maryland so I changed the colors to black, red and yellow. I used a different Cuttlebug EB folder for the center panel. For the flower I used a Black-eyed Susan digi image from OWH in place of the Prima flower on Cindy's card. I love how it turned out. I hope Leo & Lauren will like it too.

Oink! Oink!

It's Hoedown time again! I love making cards for the weekly challenges at the Hambo Hoedown. If you haven't joined in, you're missing all the fun and free digi stamps!

This week's challenge is to use the Pig Inmate digi by Hambo Stamps to create a birthday card, but ribbon is not allowed. You can use twine, string, thread or fibers but NO RIBBON! Here's my no ribbon card...

This is such a fun image and the sentiment just had to have an OINK! OINK! to go with it!

I think I'll finish the inside with Go Hog Wild!

Hop on over to the Hoedown and see what fun projects the other Bacon Bits made. Play along with us. Can't wait to see what you create.

Ooh la la!

My friend and stamping buddy Rose posted a Maxine cartoon on her FB page where Maxine said Girls Night Out meant not wearing a bra! It made me giggle. Well then someone suggested that maybe the Meade Girls should go braless to the next Girl's Day Out! I thought of this Bugaloo image Stella Tidbits - Braless that I had recently purchased and made Rose this card...

I found the DSP at Michael's. Isn't it perfect for this image? I heard from Rose and she said it made her laugh. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Rose.

Pig Over the Moon!

It's Hambo Hoedown time again. Challenge #17 is to use Moonscape and any other Hambo image you would like (or none) and as an option add texture. I used the Floating Pig - digi with the Moonscape digi to create my card. I added texture with my Stars EB folder and some silver star sequins. I was trying to give the impression of looking through a telescope. What do you think?

Come join the Hoedown - free digis and fun challenges.

What's Up?

Hambo Stamps' Hoedown challenge! Challenge #15 is to use BOLD, BRIGHT COLORS and paper piecing with the very cute Balloon Girl - digi. I envisioned her flying in a very bright blue sky over bright green fields of flowers . So here she is...

I layered and popped up the green to give the fields a little dimension and then added some punched flowers. I used some of my favorite SU Rainbow Sherbert DP for the sky and to paper piece the balloon. Doesn't she look like she's having fun?

This weeks challenge was to make an "announcement" card using King - digi and your own generated sentiment. I used the KING to announce a milestone birthday...my brother's 60th!

Purple Penguin Bunny

This week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge was to use this cute Penguin Bunny - digi to make an easel card. It was fun and easy, Here's my Purple Penguin Bunny.

The sentiment is a free digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I made the flower buttons with a Sizzlits Button Set die. If you haven't made an easel card, try it. It's easy and there's a good tutorial and video in SCS resources.

Cupcake Caterpillar

Wow! This week flew by and it's time for another Hambo Hoedown Challenge. This week's challenge was to make a spring project using the cute Hambo Caterpillar - digi and the main colors of hot pink and bright green. We all know how much caterpillars like to munch. Well my Hambo caterpillar put on her party hat and munched a bite right out of the cupcake, even leaving a few crumbs!

If you haven't joined the Hoedown yet, put on your party hat and join in. These challenges are a lot of fun.

Coffee & Pie...oh my!

As I was looking through my paper stash I found this cute paper with pies all over it and a checkered paper that reminded me of a tablecloth. Hmmm...what goes with pie? Coffee! Perfect  for Hambo's Hoedown Challenge this week ...a sketch challenge using Coffee Girl - digi. Here's the sketch

I made a gift card holder. I thought it would be perfect for a Starbucks gift card for someone special.

If you haven't joined in the Hoedown, come on over and try a challenge. They're fun.

UGH!

As I was writing inside of  this card that I made for a friend, look what happened! Check the lower right hand corner.

Has this ever happened to you?

Now she'll get this card. It's one that I designed for a recent shoebox swap. Maybe that will teach me to keep my desk neater!

Celebrate Big

This elephant image is so cute. It's called Party Elephant and it's a Hambo digistamp. This is the card that I made for Hambo Stamps' Hambo Hoedown # 7.
The challenge this week was to use Party Elephant and add sparkle! It's hard to see in the picture, but I used sparkly DP and added sparkle to her hat and toenails.  Come join the  Hoedown  and get a free digistamp if you play along. It's fun.
