Birthday Monsters

It's that time again at Party Time Tuesdays, ANYTHING GOES.  I stamp regularly with a group of wonderful, very talented ladies. About every other month we get together for a Shoebox Swap, a fun day of stamping, eating & laughing. I decided to use this challenge to design a card for a Shoebox Swap that I am participating in. The theme for the SBS is masculine cards, kids, teens, adult males. I made a monster birthday card for a little boy or a big boy!

Lots of wiggle eyes and paper piecing! I used Make a Monster by Stampin'Up. I pulled out my Canvas background stamp to add some texture. I really should use those background stamps more. The border punch is made by Martha Stewart. I'm not sure of the name of it. I call it the slime punch. This was a fun card to make and will be perfect for the next kid's card I need.

Hop on over to PTT and get some inspiration from the other Party Planners. Then show us some of your creations. Remember ANYTHING GOES!

PTT Color Challenge

Just in time for Spring, Party Time Tuesdays is having a color challenge with these pretty pastel colors

March+2013+Color+Challenge+copy

Here's my card using The Paper Nest Dolls digi image Easter Avery.

IRL this card has a lot of sparkle! The flowered background paper is glittery. The pink glitter card stock that I used for the image  mat and border are from The Robin's Nest along with the pretty pink and blue dew drops. Paper Nest Dolls and The Robin's Nest are sponsoring this weeks challenge. Be sure to check them out for some really cute images and crafting supplies.

A Little Thumb Thing Green!

At the Hambo Hoedown this week the challenge is to incorporate scallops into your design.  I decided to make a little thumb thing for my granddaughters for St. Patrick's Day...

I used scalloped ovals and borders and Hambo's Fingerprint and Little Thumb Thing stamps. The hat stamp is from the Stampin'Up set Snow Buddies. I drew on the facial features and arms and legs. Then I attached the card front to a plastic box so it opened like a book.
Inside I put a little thumb thing green to wear and a little thumb thing green to spend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Luck of the Irish

Party Time Tuesdays is celebrating with the GREEN this week. The challenge is to make cards and projects that reflect St. Patty's Day. What better way to celebrate than a chance to win some green...money! I made a twisted card that holds scratch off lottery tickets.

I used a sentiment from the Cutting Cafe file called Lucky Me on the front and a $1 stamp from the craft store inside.

I love making twisted cards. If you missed my Christmas twisted card check here. If you would like to try one, you can find an excellent how-to video by Kelly Gettelginger here They're easy to make and perfect for holding small items such as gift cards, lottery tickets, money, pictures, etc. , .

I hope the recipient of my twisted card is lucky and wins some green!

Oh Blarney!

The Hambo Hoedown is full of Blarney this week! That's right...this week's challenge is to use Monkey Irish, any other Hambo image, or any image of your choice and  incorporate rainbow colors in your project. I used Monkey Irish that I got free for playing in last week's challenge, and used rainbow colors and rainbows on my card.

I thought this paper was perfect for the challenge. I used 5 different colors of twine for a rainbow effect. Did you know that a small scalloped oval makes a good cloud! This will make a perfect St. Patty's Day card for someone special.

Now for a real challenge, try kissing the Blarney Stone! The famous Stone is set in the wall of the of Blarey Castle 83 feet above the ground. To kiss it you have to lean over backwards (grasping an iron rail) from the parapet walk of the battlements.

Here I am getting ready to kiss The Blarney Stone...

Here's my hubby kissing The Blarney Stone...

We did it!!

Use those Die Cuts!

The challenge at Party Time Tuesdays this week is to use those dies cuts!! That's right, create a project with die cut shapes. The cute digi image I used is from The Paper Nest called Sewing Avery.

I used my Spellbinders die to make the mat for the image. I cut 3 squares all the same size with the die - 2 black & one from DSP. I glued the black shapes overlapping behind the DSP shape leaving enough to make a border. I think it looks kind of like it's been cut with pinking shears. Then I found some cute DSP with spools of thread and added a button and some colored twine.
Hop o over to PTT and see what the other Party Planners have created to inspire you. Join in the challenge and you might win some freebies from our sponsors - The Paper Nest, The Robin's Nest and Papelito's Stamps.

Smile...It's Hoedown Time

The Hambo Hoedown challenge this week is to create a design that incorporates both a LARGE and a SMALL element in your project. I used Hambo's Gator  & Crack a Smile to make this card.

My LARGE and a SMALL elements are the circles...a large circle behind the image, small circles for the sentiment and teeny tiny circles made by the paper piercing. What a fun challenge.
