Peek-a-Boo Treat

I  made these little Peek-a-Boo treats to put in my granddaughters' baskets. They were so easy to make and I think the girls will laugh when they slip off the ribbon and open them.

Have a Happy Easter everyone!

I'm an Honorary Bacon Bit this week!

I'm so excited and proud to be the guest designer for Hambo Stamps this week.Thank you Hambo Stamps for choosing me. I really enjoy participating in the challenges each week. They've made me try some new techniques, color schemes and layouts and they're FUN!.

This weeks challenge was to make an "announcement" card using King - digi and your own generated sentiment. I used the KING to announce a milestone birthday...my brother's 60th!

If you haven't danced at the Hoedown yet, come join the fun.

Can't Get "Ogre" You

Isn't it funny how sometimes the finished product is nothing like you envisioned it. That's what happened with this card, but I love how it turned out. Hambo Hoedown Challenge #11 was to use this cute Orge - digi and one of the sentiments to make a  card with some distressing on it somewhere. I very rarely do any distressing on my cards so this was a change for me, but change is good. I used my scissors to distress the edges of the card stock and tore out the sentiment. I decided to leave the ogre uncolored to give him a sketchy look. I outlined him with a C1 Copic to give him a little dimension and sponged around him with Cameo Coral. IMHO he looks quite handsome on the embossed heart background!

Shoebox Swap Card

I spent Saturday with a wonderful group of ladies stamping, eating, laughing and just having fun! The cards we made were awesome. The talent in this group amazes me. Here is the card I designed for everyone to make. I love this fold. I saw it on Gretchen Barron's blog.

Visit my friend Mary's blog to see the other cards that we made. It was a happy stamping day!!

More Pop-ups

Here are the other two pop-up cards that I made at Great Scraps. I love the little hedgehogs and the Happy Birthday is a Martha Stewart punch.

This one is so cool. It folds flat to put in an envelop and stands up when you pull the tag.

All of the pop-up cards were easy and fun to make. I really enjoyed the class.

Honey Pops

Last week a friend and I took a class at Great Scraps called Creating Cards with Honey POPs. We made four cards each with a 3D surprise using Inky Antics Honey POP stamps and Honeycomb papers.
Here are the two of the cards that we made.

Aren't they the coolest cards!! They were easy to make. The honeycomb paper was a little hard to cut because it is thick, but well worth the effort. We made two Easter cards too. I'll post those later.

Purple Penguin Bunny

This week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge was to use this cute Penguin Bunny - digi to make an easel card. It was fun and easy, Here's my Purple Penguin Bunny.

The sentiment is a free digistamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I made the flower buttons with a Sizzlits Button Set die. If you haven't made an easel card, try it. It's easy and there's a good tutorial and video in SCS resources.

Pop-up Birthdays!

I recently took a class at Great Scraps called Creative Cards: Make It Pop! It was fun and we made 4 fabulous pop-up cards. Here are  2 of them...

I sent this one to my friend Mary for her birthday last week.

Love the cupcake images on this one. The cupcake on the inside is a smaller version of the large image on the front. Hmmm...wonder who will get this one!

Stamping Party

Last Saturday I stamped with my two favorite crafting buddies - my granddaughters - and seven of their friends! It was so much fun. Here's what we made...

Mother's Day cards
It's a pocket card. When you pull up the flowers it says "Happy Mother's Day".

Spring baskets
Each girl got to pick a small stamp set, an acrylic block , a small stamp pad and some card stock to put in their basket. IRL they are very sparkly!

Gatefold Birthday Cards
The girls loved stamping with Versamark!

I think all of the girls did a great job for eight year olds and had a fun time. I know I did and I got the best thank yous from my granddaughters -   lots of hugs and kisses!

Crafting Tips

Here are a few crafting tips I found on the Better Homes & Garden site...

When crafting with glitter, keep it in check by coating a plastic tray with nonstick cooking spray. Any loose glitter will slide right off, and you'll save more for future projects. -- Mackey Stanley

Get rid of ribbon creases with the help of a nearby lamp. Simply run the wrinkled ribbon across a hot light bulb to make it wrinkle-free and ready to use.

I think I'll try both of these tips. I'll let you know if they work.

Cupcake Caterpillar

Wow! This week flew by and it's time for another Hambo Hoedown Challenge. This week's challenge was to make a spring project using the cute Hambo Caterpillar - digi and the main colors of hot pink and bright green. We all know how much caterpillars like to munch. Well my Hambo caterpillar put on her party hat and munched a bite right out of the cupcake, even leaving a few crumbs!

If you haven't joined the Hoedown yet, put on your party hat and join in. These challenges are a lot of fun.
